iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro
By far, the most anticipated Apple device is the new iPhones. Moreover, most insiders claimed that there would be four of them this year: the 5.4-inch iPhone 12 mini, the 6.1-inch iPhone 12, and two advanced versions: the 6.1-inch iPhone 12 Pro and the iPhone 12 Pro Max. 6.7 inches.
The labels indicate the fact that the 5.4-inch iPhone will be called the iPhone mini on the Internet from Apple-branded covers for the upcoming line.
All 2020 iPhones are expected to come with OLED displays instead of LCDs, and the premium version of the Pro Max could get a new 120Hz refresh rate (ProMotion technology like the new iPad Pro). However, it was recently reported that the company has problems with components so that the display upgrade may be abandoned.
All four smartphones should be powered by the new generation A14 chip and support 5G. iPhone 12 Pro models can get 6 GB of RAM, two versions of iPhone 12 – 4 GB.
In the design of the iPhone 12, Apple may return the metal frame and flat edges that we know the iPhone 4S for. These same design elements have already been incorporated into the 2020 iPad Pro. There were many rumors about the reduced “bangs” of the display, but they all sounded unconvincing.
Several primary insiders (Max Weinbach and EverythingApplePro) believe that the Pro versions of the iPhone 12 will be released in a new color – matte dark blue. According to bloggers, he will replace the dark green introduced in the iPhone 11 Pro last year.
According to various sources, the iPhone 12 with a 6.1 and 5.4 inches screen will receive a primary dual camera, two pro versions – a camera with three lenses: wide-angle, telephoto, and ultra-wide. In the coolest Pro Max model, the camera system can be supplemented with a 3D sensor for working with augmented reality applications – like the Lidar scanner in the 2020 iPad Pro. Also, the iPhone 12 Pro will be able to shoot 4K video at 240 frames per second.
Column HomePod mini
There weren’t many rumors about the successor to the HomePod. However, it has been reported that Apple is not working on the second generation, but on a simplified version of the HomePod – HomePod mini. Bloomberg was the first to say that the company plans to release the HomePod mini this year. Also, the company has recently removed third-party headphones and speakers from the site and stores.
Over-ear AirPods Studio
Another upcoming device that Apple may show on October 13 is the AirPods Studio. According to insiders, AirPods Studio will feature active noise canceling, similar to the AirPods Pro. It will be able to automatically pause and resume when you take them off or put them on, thanks to the built-in head and neck sensor. AirPods will also learn to detect left and right ears for audio routing. Also, the headphones will be able to adjust the equalizer.
AirTags Portable Trackers
According to numerous unofficial reports, Apple has been working on its trackers for detecting lost AirTags for a long time. NFC tags from Apple were expected back in September, so there is a high probability that the company will announce the new gadget on October 13th.
The accessory is expected to connect to iPhone, AirPods, and Apple Watch. It will be possible to track tags through the Locator application.
First Mac with ARM
At WWDC 2020, Apple announced radical plans to move Mac computers from Intel to its Arm processors (Apple Silicon) in the next two years. At the same time, the company noted that the first such Macs should come out by the end of this year, although there is no confirmation. The special October event looks like a suitable platform for such news. But it is likely that Apple will announce the Mac on Apple Silicon later this November in a press release on its website.
